Neil Chivvis was born in 1974 on the south shore of Long Island. From an early age and under the tutelage of his father, he learned what would become his roots of General Contracting. He continued throughout his early teens to show great interest in the carpentry/building business so much that he went to work for a General Contractor on Long Island. Rapidly gaining his experience he decided to move to Raleigh, NC with dreams of someday owning his own company. With that fire inside of him he quickly gained a position with a local framing company. In no time he was running his own crew, and then decided the time had come to start his own company, Chivvis Enterprises, Inc.
Joseph Favara is the Vice President of Chivvis Built, Inc. His primary responsibility is to handle the to day-to-day business transactions. Joe’s main focus is to manage the financial records, and serve as the liaison for the clients and general contractor.
Joe brings many years of business experience to Chivvis Built. Joe spent a great deal of time as a leader in the Accounting Department of the United Parcel Service while also attending business classes at SUNY Farmingdale. From there he took his knowledge to Interstate National Dealer Services and worked as the Operations Specialist in the Internet Marketing Group.
Joe now lives and works in Mial Plantation. He manages to balance his dedication to his work as well as to his family. Having the experience of building his own custom built home, Joe knows that superior customer service is just as important as building superior custom homes. Joe believes that keeping the lines of communication open is crucial to having a successful, positive build experience.
In 2001, Neil Chivvis started framing houses for Art White. Art White was the owner of Whitecapps Development Corporation. Whitecapps was developing houses in an exclusive new community called Mial Plantation. Art quickly realized the potential Neil Chivvis had and hired him to frame all the houses in Mial Plantation at the same time developed a mentor student relationship with him. That relationship blossomed to the point that Neil Chivvis went to work for Whitecapps full time to learn the business behind building custom homes. After a few short years Neil Chivvis mastered how to build a home as well as gained the knowledge necessary to be a successful business man.
They spent countless hours working together to build Mial Plantation. Art and Neil’s relationship was priceless and somehow Art knew that his time spent tutoring Neil would be short spent. They spent as much time together as possible.
Art White passed away late 2002, leaving his wife Helen to run Whitecapps. Helen quickly promoted Neil Chivvis to Vice President with the hopes that he would be competent enough for that type of responsibility. Well, so far Neil Chivvis has led Whitecapps to two prestigious medals in North Carolina’s Parade of Homes. Neil Chivvis’s love for carpentry and his admiration and respect for Art kept him focused and dedicated to making Whitecapps as successful as possible.
In the middle of 2005 Helen decided to retire from the building business. Although she still owns the twelve remaining lots, Helen has given Neil Chivvis exclusive rights to build on those lots and finish what her late husband started, the development of a small piece of paradise cut out of East Raleigh. Since back in his early years on Long Island Neil Chivvis had a fire in him to be successful, many years later that fire is as hot as ever. His unmatched knowledge combined with his dedication to his craft makes it a no-brainer decision when choosing a builder who will build your dream home. Neil Chivvis has more than proven himself as not only an experienced General Contractor, but as a man who stands behind what Whitecapps was built on, and what he is basing his new company on, integrity, trust, and quality of services provided.
